Butuuro People's Sacco Holds 18th AGM showing Milestone in Financial Inclusion.

BUSHENYI. Butuuro People's Sacco recently held its 18th Annual General Meeting at Bushenyi Core PTC Grounds - Nyakabirizi. The event brought together members, stakeholders, and guests to review the SACCO's performance and chart a way forward.
Mr. Emmy Ngabirano, RDC Bushenyi District, represented the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, as the Chief Guest. Ngabirano urged members to prioritize saving and cultivate a culture of financial discipline. He warned loan defaulters that they will face arrest and prosecution if they don't settle their dues.
Bob Barigye, Registrar of Cooperatives, praised Butuuro SACCO's performance, acknowledging the founders and promoters' efforts. Other dignitaries present included Aggrey Ategyeka, Municipal Commercial Officer, and Nesta Byaruhanga, Mayor Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, who commended the SACCO's management for its good work.
During the meeting, members elected a new Board, led by Janan Mubehamwe as Chairperson, marking the end of the previous Board's term. Mubehamwe pledged to work with the management to ensure maximum service delivery. Outgoing Chairperson, Eng. Benson Kamugisha, highlighted the Board's achievements but noted the challenge of loan defaulters.
General Manager, Mr. Komunda, invited the public to join Butuuro SACCO, citing its excellent services. The SACCO recognized its best performers with gifts, appreciating their contributions. A highlight of the event was the launch of the Quick Loans system, enabling members to access loans via mobile phones.
Members expressed satisfaction with the SACCO's leadership and pledged to mobilize more members. The event showcased Butuuro SACCO's commitment to serving its members and promoting financial inclusion.
